Jack Farrell

Jack Farrell earned his Ph.D. in Psychology in 1969 and he has been a licensed psychologist in Maryland since 1982. His membership in professional organizations includes the American Psychological Association, the Maryland Psychological Association, and the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. He has twenty years experience working in prisons, ten in a maximum security setting and ten in medium security. He has also worked in a veterans' hospital and maintained a private practice.

His home in western Maryland is minutes from the Appalachian Trail where he and his wife Nancy enjoy hiking. They often hike and ski in Colorado, and have hiked in Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Germany's Black Forest, and Patagonia, Chile. Sea kayaking is another favorite activity and they have kayaked in Alaska, Newfoundland, the San Juan Islands of Washington, Florida, and especially the Sea of Cortez in Baja.

Dr. Farrell is fond of traveling to visit ancient megalithic sites. He often collects folklore on his trips. He has visited most of Europe, especially Ireland. His travels have brought him to Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Costa Rica in Latin America, and Japan, Korea, and China in Asia. He enjoys the Polynesian culture and has traveled to Rapa Nui or Easter Island, Hawaii, and both American Samoa and independent Samoa.
